Exciting Update from Camp Kingswood: Meet My New Partner!

Dear Kingswood Parents,
I can’t believe it’s already February, and in just a little over four months, we’ll be back together around the campfire in Maine. Last month, just before the Boston Reunion, our 2025 Summer Admin team gathered for our annual Staff Training Planning Retreat. As we were mapping out our goals and program for Summer 2025, it became clear that, without a doubt, this coming summer will be our best yet!
I’m writing today to share some big updates regarding the ownership of camp. I’m thrilled to welcome Jeff Bader as my new business partner and co-owner. Mitch Morgan is no longer an owner of Camp Kingswood, and no longer resides in Maine.
Jeff, Michelle, Rosie, and Asher first joined our community in 2023, as Rosie and Asher were both starting Tsofim. Hailing from Los Angeles, the Baders quickly became known for their generosity and love of all things camp. Since then, they have become deeply invested in our camp community. Jeff has asked me to share a personal note with you, which you’ll find at the bottom of this email.
Camp Kingswood was founded in 1913, and while its ownership has changed over the years, its character, values, and community as a Jewish overnight camp in Maine have always remained steadfast. As we head into Camp Kingswood’s 112th summer, our incredible Kingswood community—based on our core values of courage, responsibility, community, and spirit—has never been stronger.
When I became the owner of Camp Kingswood in 2020, it was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. I made a promise to create an environment where campers feel safe, seen, and connected—a place where they can thrive in a fun, friendly, and loving community. Today, I am more dedicated to that mission than ever. Now, with the Baders’ partnership, we are looking toward the many ways to grow and improve Kingswood for future generations of campers to come.
Together, we’re dreaming big. We’re already discussing new programmatic additions, cabin upgrades, and facility improvements. First up, looking at how to make our dining hall cool and comfortable all summer long! Stay tuned for some exciting news on this front!
As we look toward this summer, registration is going strong, with waitlists already started for a few age groups! If you have not yet registered or know new families considering Kingswood, I encourage you to register now. The enthusiasm we are feeling for this summer from all of you is an ongoing point of pride for our team as we work day in and day out to make it the best possible experience for your children.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. We can’t wait to welcome our campers back this summer for another unforgettable season!
Warmly,
Jodi

Dear Kingswood families,
When our family first joined the Kingswood community in 2023, we quickly realized what a great decision we had made. The warmth and intimacy we felt right away was so special, and we knew we had found a place that would be as special to our children as camp was to us growing up.
After their first summer, the kids came home full of stories and new friendships. At Camp Kingswood, our kids are happy and content, off screens, and into their friends who know them in a way that can only be created by summers at camp. They count down the days to return, where they live as their proudest Jewish selves. Their love of Kingswood is a testament to the unique environment and program created by Jodi and her team. I’ve already learned so much from Jodi about camp ownership, and I look forward to working together for many years to come.
While our professional lives have been in the entertainment industry, we’ve both always had a deep love of camp. Michelle spent her formative years at a Jewish camp on the West Coast, while I was lucky enough to spend 14 years as a camper, CIT, and counselor at my childhood camp in Massachusetts. I’ve actually long had the fantasy of owning a camp one day, so when the opportunity presented itself to join forces with Jodi, it was a no-brainer. I am thrilled to partner with her, because she is absolutely the best in the business. Jodi will be leading the professional team and running all things camp on the ground, while I am excited to be here to support her, her year-round team, and the incredible summer staff my kids have come to love.
You might wonder how we will measure the return on this investment. For us, it’s about seeing campers thrive — discovering who they are, building meaningful relationships, and having transformative experiences that help them grow into themselves. All of this, of course, happens while they’re having the time of their lives on the shores of Woods Pond. Jodi’s leadership and vision have led us to this moment, and after months of ‘talking camp’ together, we are excited for what the future holds.
Our kids opened our eyes to Camp Kingswood’s magic. We are thrilled to be able to ensure that the same opportunity is available for Kingswood campers for years to come.
Sincerely,
Jeff
